Three shifts worth noticing

Genomics: from tools to treatments

ARKG and ARKK sold about $200 million of companies that sell sequencing, lab tools and tests: Personalis, 10x Genomics, Illumina, Twist and CareDx. Over the same three weeks they bought about $90 million of drug developers, most of them using AI or gene editing: Recursion, Iambic (a new position), Nurix, Kymera (also new) and Intellia. They also bought about $29 million of the diagnostics company Veracyte.

ARK doesn't explain individual daily trades, so the reasons are inference. But the direction is clear: within genomics, money moved from the companies that sell to labs toward the companies trying to make drugs.

AI computing in, some apps out

CoreWeave and Cerebras together drew about $78 million. Meta is a split decision: ARKW bought about $26 million while ARKK sold about $17 million. On the other side, ARK sold Shopify, Robinhood, Palantir, Toast and DraftKings. ARKF sold all of its DraftKings, and ARKW sold all of its Toast and all but 198 shares of its DraftKings.

Defence, nuclear and space

ARKK added BWX Technologies, which makes nuclear components and fuel, and the defence company Kratos. Rocket Lab was bought in three funds, and Archer Aviation in three for about $12 million. The one large sale in this area was Teradyne, the chip-testing and robotics company, which fell from 6.90% of ARKQ to 4.53%.

New positions and exits

ARKK got smaller

Separately from ARK's own trades, investors took money out of ARKK. Positions that ARK didn't trade in ARKK fell by about 16% in share count between 30 September and 20 October. That is the sign of redemptions, which shrink every holding in proportion.

This is why share counts alone overstate ARK's selling in ARKK. The tables above use ARK's trade disclosures, which record ARK's own decisions and leave out these flows.

How we measured this

The figures come from ARK's daily trade disclosures for 1 to 20 October 2026, netted per fund and per stock. Dollar values use each stock's price in ARK's 20 October holdings file (21 October for ARKW). We checked the largest moves against the change in ARK's holdings files over the same period, adjusted for fund flows. The two methods agree to within about 20%.
